Who amongst us doesn’t want radiant skin? Not only does luminous skin look beautiful and fresh, but also shows off how healthy your complexion is. Since I’m all about that glow, I decided to list out a few products that can set you on the path to brighter skin.
1. Vitamin C Product
Vitamin C is a powerful ingredient. Not only does it boost collagen production, but also works to fade pigmentation and reverse the damage caused by UV rays. After just a few weeks of using such a product, you will be left with an even-toned and more radiant complexion.
2. Chemical Exfoliants
Chemical exfoliants like glycolic acid and lactic acid are geniuses at sloughing off dead and dull skin. Unlike physical scrubs, they gently exfoliate your face without causing any micro-tears. Whilst you can certainly use serums containing these ingredients, face masks can provide quicker results. Just remember to liberally slather on sunscreen after using them as these acids can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun.
Primers are the secret behind many luminous complexions. If you are dealing with sallow or stressed out skin, use a colour-correcting formula to get your glow on. Formulas with purple or pink tints do a great job of perking up skin in a subtle, but effective way. Several brands also have illuminating primers that can add radiance to your base makeup.
4. Glowy Foundations
If dewy skin is what you are after, skip the matte foundations. Instead, look for formulas that contain the word ‘luminous’ or ‘glow’ in them. Such foundations are generally hydrating and leave skin looking plump, gleaming and smooth. For best results, blend the formula in with a damp sponge or stippling brush. If your skin is on the oily side, prep it with a mattifying primer before applying your foundation.
Don’t have the patience to apply foundation or wait for your skincare products to work? Just turn to your highlighters. Whether you opt for powders, creams or liquids, ensure that the finish is shimmery and not glittery. In general, gold-toned hues complement warmer complexions, whilst icy silver shades pop against cooler skin tones. If you really want to go all out, feel free to layer on different formulas to get a blinding highlight.
If you do happen to try any (or all) of these out, do let me know! I would love to hear all about your experience.
